ABOUT
Career Camp

Said Confucius, "Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life."
We, students, are all torchbearers , and now is the moment. The moment to take up the reins to our tomorrow.

Where should we begin, and more importantly, how? As we watch our aspirations take flight on the wings of a dynamic world, we seek the navigation to let them reach a definite destination- navigation derived from guidance, encouragement, and actions aligning with the path we wish to tread.
The Career Camp for Class X at The Orchid School is a platform for us, students, novices at the threshold of the workaday world, to nurture a sense of responsibility and decision-making among ourselves. It is aimed at empowering us to chalk out our future in fulfillment of our true calling. An event organized by and catering to the students of Class X, it will equip us to pursue existent and emerging career avenues with full-fledged fervour and clarity.
At the Career Camp, with the aid of panelists who are proficient in their respective fields, students are guided beyond the periphery of their classroom to review their long-term goals. They will listen, engage and participate in panel discussions, which will unleash a multitude of careers, at the same time unveiling the code and conduct of the professional world. After all, wearing a suit and tie is just the gilt-edged exterior of the relentless effort and discipline that are a working professional's greatest assets.
The Career Camp is open to parents and students of Class X will enrich them with
many a rare and rewarding experience. We are also scheduling some sessions specifically for class XI and XII and will keep concerned students posted about the same.

Gathering the Reins...
The prelude to the Career Camp is every bit as fascinating as the event promises to be, as we warm up towards the actual curtain-raiser.

Shadowing a Professional-
An activity to instill a first-hand experience of the trials, hardships, and triumphs of a professional during the course of his or her working day, it entails students 'shadowing' a professional of their choice for three working days, in their Diwali vacations, for effectively eight working hours per day. Post this, they will fill in a reflection questionnaire that will bring to light for students themselves their insightful readings into this activity.
-
Parents' Orientation-
On 5th October 2019, Saturday, at 11 a.m., parents are cordially invited to attend an orientation on the upcoming Career Camp for a notification of the premise, venue, and schedule of the event.

Organising the Camp-
The execution of the Career Camp has been orchestrated by the students of Class X themselves, right from ideation to implementation, and ranging from the art displays to registration and management.
